Graduate scoops award for film about campaigner

A BRISTOL filmmaker has won a prestigious award for her documentary about a South American wildlife campaigner.

Tatiana, who recently graduated from UWE Bristol with an MA in wildlife filmmaking, won the 2025 Student Academy Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) for Tides Of Life. The film tells the story of Richard Tesore, an entrepreneur who turned his love for wildlife into action by founding S.O.S Rescate de Fauna Marina, Uruguay’s first centre for marine mammal rescue and rehabilitation.
