Construction woe Neighbours unhappy about building disruption

COUNCIL chiefs have threatened to take formal action against the local authority's own house building company after people living next door to one of its biggest development sites say their lives are being made a nightmare by the disruption, dust and noise.

Bristol City Council has confirmed it has launched an investigation into the council-owned Goram Homes' site in South Bristol, after residents have lodged a long series of complaints to both the council, Goram Homes and the partner housebuilder on the site, Vistry.

Goram Homes has told residents of Wells Road, whose homes back on to the former New Fosseway School site in Hengrove, it appreciates the disruption and promised that Vistry is 'doing everything it possibly can' to minimise the impact on people living next to the site. Goram is building up to 200 new homes in two stages, with 130 being built now in the first stage. Of those, half will be classed as 'affordable' and be added to the homes available for 'social rent' to people on the council's HomeChoice housing waiting list system.
