|September 25, 2025
MORE than 50 Birmingham workers at lucrative workwear supplier Johnsons are to go on strike four times over four weeks after the company's latest pay offer was slammed a ‘disgraceful’ by a union.
More than 50 Johnsons workers will walk out on strike
Staff were offered a 2.8 per cent increase and overwhelmingly rejected what Unite the union said is a “real terms pay cut’.
Unite said as inflation is currently at 4.6 per cent this offer would worsen the cost-of-living crisis where housing, food and utility prices are rising faster than wages.
“Tt is completely unacceptable that a company like Johnson who are making money hand over fist think that they can squeeze our members’ pay,” said Unite general secretary Sharon Graham.
“Its workforce deserve a pay award that means they can puta roof over their heads, food on their plates and pay their bills.
