KARL WINS ADULT LEARNERS PRIZE

- GURDIP THANDI News Reporter

A BIRMINGHAM man who rebuilt his life after the loss of his mum and being on the brink of homelessness has shown it is never too late to start again.

Karl Wilson scooped the Learning for Work Award at the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) Adult Learning Awards this week at a ceremony in Birmingham's Grand Hotel.

The 63-year-old was recognised for his resilience, determination and passion in making a new start despite the challenges he faced.

He was forced to give up his successful computer business to become a full time carer for his mum when she developed Alzheimer's.

Things got even tougher for Karl after his mum died and he found himself facing homelessness while suffering with depression.
