Mets smack seven homers, down Phillies to snap losing streak
Bangkok Post
|June 23, 2025
Francisco Lindor, Brandon Nimmo and Juan Soto hit back-to-back-to-back homers in the third inning Saturday night for the New York Mets, who snapped a seven-game losing streak with an 11-4 win over the hosts Philadelphia Phillies in the middle game of a three-game series.
-
The Mets moved into a tie for first place in the National League East with the Phillies, who had a three-game winning streak stopped as they lost for just the third time in 12 games.
Nimmo and Soto had two homers apiece for the Mets, who hit seven round-trippers — all solo shots. The seven homers were one shy of the franchise record set in a 16-7 win over Philadelphia on Aug 24, 2015.
The consecutive homers by Lindor, Nimmo and Soto off rookie Mick Abel (2-1) put the Mets ahead for good and marked the 10th time in team history a trio of players have gone back-to-back-to-back.
