From Matilda to married! 'IT WAS THE PERFECT DAY'

Underneath a beautiful canopy of flowers, Matildas midfielder Katrina Gorry and her stunning wife, Clara Markstedt, toasted to the start of their new life as a married couple.

The pair tied the knot on June 14 in an intimate ceremony in Queensland's Whitsunday Islands, surrounded by 70 of their closest family and friends, including Matildas players Charli Grant and Michelle Heyman.

“We had the most incredible day, it was more beautiful than I ever thought it could be,” Katrina, 32, tells New Idea. “It was such a beautiful moment seeing Clara at the altar, she looked absolutely stunning. It made me really emotional and made me feel so incredibly lucky.”
