Essential Summer Health Tips to Stay Cool
Summer brings sunshine, outdoor fun, and vacations, but it also comes with scorching temperatures that can take a toll on your health. Heat exhaustion, dehydration, and sunburn are common risks during hot weather. To help you stay cool and healthy, here are some essential summer health tips to beat the heat.
1. Stay Hydrated- Dehydration is one of the biggest summer health risks. Sweating causes your body to lose fluids rapidly, so drink plenty of water throughout the day.
- Aim for 8-10 glasses of water daily (more if you're active).
- Include hydrating foods like watermelon, cucumbers, oranges, and coconut water.
- Avoid excessive caffeine, alcohol, and sugary drinks, as they can dehydrate you.
2. Dress for the Weather
- Wearing the right clothing can help regulate body temperature.
- Choose light-colored, loose-fitting clothes made of breathable fabrics like cotton or linen.
- Wear a wide-brimmed hat and UV-protective sunglasses to shield yourself from the sun.
3. Protect Your Skin from the Sun
- Prolonged sun exposure can lead to sunburn, premature aging, and even skin cancer.
- Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) 20 minutes before going outside.
- Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours, especially after swimming or sweating.
- Seek shade between 10 AM and 4 PM, when the sun's rays are strongest.

4. Eat Light & Refreshing Meals
