The 'will they, won't they?' dynamic of Miss Scarlet and The Duke had fans of the Victorian crime drama on tenterhooks for four series. But as the show returns on U& Alibi this week, it is now called Miss Scarlet following actor Stuart Martin's decision to quit his role as London Detective Inspector William 'The Duke' Wellington.

The Duke's departure for New York left his investigating partner, private sleuth Eliza Scarlet (Kate Phillips), heartbroken, so for the past few months, she has kept herself busy at her thriving detective agency. She is even optimistic about meeting Scotland Yard's new Detective Inspector Alexander Blake (Tom Durant Pritchard). But there's a problem he doesn't work with private investigators!
