Plenty of tears have been shed at Jacobs Fold, where Sarah Sugden lives with grandma Charity and her family. Young Sarah, who has the life-limiting condition Fanconi anaemia, is desperate to have a baby but has had her dream crushed at every turn.

This week, the metaphorical rain finally stops pouring for the fragile 20-year-old, and the most dazzling of rainbows appears. Charity, who has stepped up to be a surrogate for her granddaughter - left infertile after a hysterectomy - discovers she's pregnant. But while Sarah can't stop smiling, Charity is in secret turmoil. Question is, why?
