Cheers Star George Wendt Dies at 76

George Wendt, best known for playing the lovable Norm Peterson on Cheers, died at age 76 on May 20, 32 years to the day of the sitcom’s finale airing.

Wendt “died peacefully in his sleep while at home,” according to his rep, who remembered the actor as a “doting family man, a well-loved friend and confidant to all of those lucky enough to have known him.”
