The compact electric SUV doesn't attempt to be everything to everyone; instead, it defines a clear niche as the perfect secondary vehicle for discerning urban households that value comfort, safety, and understated elegance above all.

Step inside the EX30, and you're immediately struck by the cabin's nuevo minimalism, a design philosophy that feels distinctly Swedish in its restraint. The cockpit eschews button-heavy layouts in favour of a clean, uncluttered environment. While the interior materials lean heavily on recycled components—a conscious nod to Volvo's sustainability commitments—they lack the supple feel expected in a premium car. Apart from the recycled door panels and dashboard trims, the fabric power seats are wide, well-cushioned, and comfortable, albeit without ventilation.

Volvo is known for its minimalist interiors, and the EX30 is no exception. However, here minimalism is taken to the extreme, with a centrally mounted touchscreen serving as the “do-it-all” interface. There’s no instrument cluster or head-up display in front of the driver. So, even basic information like speed is relegated to the screen. Everything from speed readouts and gear selection to navigation and even side-mirror adjustments is managed via the touchscreen. The interface itself is slick, responsive, and fluid, but it can sometimes feel like a bit too much to handle while driving.
