The history of the Birla family and the Cosmic Birla Group begins with the late RS Birla, a luminary whose contributions have left an indelible mark on the realms of business and society. Born on October 2, 1934 in Pilani, Rajasthan, RS Birla was a pivotal figure in the business landscape. His career spanned a few decades, during which he graced the highest offices of the GD Birla Group, spearheading transformative initiatives for CIMMCO International, Gwalior Suitings and Jiyajeerao Cottons. His visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to excellence propelled these enterprises to unprecedented heights, setting benchmarks for success and innovation.

A novel beginning

In 1975, driven by an insatiable entrepreneurial spirit and a shared vision of pioneering change, RS Birla joined hands with Deo Kishan Mohta to establish Cosmic Birla Group. Together, they embarked on a journey fuelled by passion, ingenuity and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Under their stewardship, the Group emerged as a beacon of innovation, transforming industries and enriching lives across diverse sectors. Following in his footsteps, Ravi Kumar Birla played a crucial role as a promoter director, overseeing the establishment of the Ferro Alloy plant in 2005. His expertise in procurement, production, sales, and marketing contributed significantly to the growth and success of Cosmic Birla Group.
