Kiosks are cost-effective, requiring fewer staff and lower rent - but beyond economics, they offer flexibility

KIOSKS Smart, Small, Scalable

The humble kiosk is quietly rewriting the fast-food playbook, especially in a country like India, where speed, convenience and affordability aren't bonuses, but essentials. What once needed a full-scale outlet can now be delivered through a compact setup designed for the modern and on-the-go consumer. From faster ordering and personalized menus to leaner staff models, digital payments, and real-time data insights, kiosks are not just serving food—they're streamlining the entire experience.

Leading chains like McDonald's, Haldiram's, Ice Cream Works, Barista, Domino's and Rebel Foods are successfully running on the kiosk model, among others.

What's Pushing the Growth

The growth momentum is largely driven by changing consumer habits—as people prefer quick bites, minimal waiting times, and grab-and-go options. Kiosks meet all these needs. They also offer brands a quicker route to scale.

“Our kiosk formats are designed to deliver premium coffee and food offerings with minimal wait time, making them ideal for high-footfall areas like malls, corporate parks, airports and transit hubs. The compact footprint allows us to maintain operational efficiency while keeping costs lower, which in turn supports better pricing and quicker ROI,” said Rajat Agrawal, CEO, Barista Coffee.
