From one of the biggest slave trading outposts to now home to a successful democracy and a bustling metropolis, the country of Ghana has come a long way since it got its independence in 1957. This country, which also shares a deep history and relationship with India, was a pleasant surprise on our journey in West Africa with the TVS Apache.

Ghana pulses with the rhythm of dance, each region moving to its unique beat, from the swift, celebratory Adowa to the powerful, coastal Kpanlogo. These hypnotic drum patterns drive swirling cloth and stamping feet. During a display at the Arash TVS Showroom, dancers encircled the TVS Apache RTR. Their movements, rising and falling with the drums, seamlessly integrated the sleek, modern machine into the ancient ritual. Amidst the explosion of traditional colours and beats, the TVS Apache RTR became a contemporary totem, its presence and every rev celebrating the vibrant spirit of Ghana.

Apache Accra is rising at a pace that feels almost electric—its skyline expanding with new glass towers, coastal highways pulsing with movement, and neighbourhoods transforming into cultural and commercial hubs that mirror any modern metropolis. Today it stands as one of the fastest-growing urban centres in West Africa, trailing only giants like Lagos in population size while rapidly catching up to the economic dynamism of Abidjan and the administrative influence of Dakar. Sprawling across more than 225 square kilometres, Accra has nearly doubled in urbanised areas within two decades, fuelled by migration, trade, and its booming tech and creative sectors.
