White staking his calm as one of the NFL's Best

It’s a standard Wednesday at One Bills Drive, with reporters and cameras scattered throughout the Bills locker room. Tre’Davious White isn’t hard to find, however.

While taping a promotional video for the team’s website — for the prestigious “Tre’Davious White Goalie Academy,” of course — White is standing on a bench, goaltender equipment in hand, smiling and shouting at the top of his lungs.

Four days later, White’s other side is on display for the whole world to see. Locked in and focused during a surprisingly tight game against the winless Miami Dolphins, he keys in on a Ryan Fitzpatrick throw jumps the route and saves the day. That, along with a forced fumble midway through the fourth quarter, ultimately turns the game in Buffalo’s favor in a 31-21 victory.

White is known for his fun-loving, outgoing personality. But it’s actually his serious, businesslike approach to the game of football that has him on the path to becoming one of the very best cornerbacks in the league.

In other words, there’s a lot more to it than just fun and games.

“I just feel like people don’t know how much effort and how much time I put into my game, into my craft,” White said.
