A Brilliant Successor

|March 2020
The Nikon D780 was launched in India on 7th January 2020.

I am not sure as to why Nikon chose to have another D-SLR when the reading on the wall says that mirrorless is the future. The D780 will eventually replace the D750, which according to me, is currently the best value-for-money D-SLR from Nikon. Looking at the specifications, the D780 has much more to offer and I’m sure Nikon knows what its doing. Let’s see how the latest Nikon D-SLR fares on our test-bench.
Design & Build Quality
The Nikon D780 D-SLR has a very good build quality; it uses lightweight but tough magnesium alloy with carbon fibre for the outer shell. It incorporates a monocoque chassis with a hard rubberized covering, making the camera dust and water-resistant. It offers a deep, comfortable grip. The body is made in Thailand.
Key Features
Let’s start with a comparison of the main differences and similarities between the new D780 and the D750.
