The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 isn’t just another foldable—it’s the most refined, ultra-slim, productivity-driven multitasking machine on the market today. At just 8.9 mm folded and 215 grams, it slips into a pocket like a premium notebook, yet unfolds into an 8-inch tablet that redefines mobile workflow. With its armored aluminum frame, IPX8 water resistance, and a hinge engineered for 200,000 folds, this is a device built for professionals who demand durability and elegance in equal measure. For creators, it's more than a phone—it’s a portable studio, editing suite, and client presentation tool in one. And when it comes to photography and video, the Z Fold 7 doesn't just keep up with flagships; in many real-world scenarios, it leads.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold ₹ 1,74,999/- (samsung.com)

Since picking up my first DSLR in 2018, I've watched mobile photography evolve from casual snapshots into serious creative tools. Phones used to be “good enough” for behind-the-scenes. Today, they're expected to deliver content that stands beside DSLR or mirrorless work.

As someone who shoots content daily, from product photography to tutorials, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7’s camera system caught my attention not for its flashy specs, but for how it performs in real situations when images matter.

The 200MP Camera

Spec: 200MP Isocell HP2 sensor, f/1.7, 1/1.3" sensor, with optical stabilization. What that means for everyday users: More megapixels = more detail you can actually use. With 200MP, you can zoom and crop later without the photo turning into a blocky mess of pixels.

I shot a building from my balcony. Later, I cropped it to zoom in on the individual windows—architectural details, window frames, and even at 100% the detailing was very sharp. That's the kind of flexibility that lets you shoot wide once, then “recompose” multiple compositions in post. The technical advantage: This is the exact same flagship sensor from the Galaxy S25 Ultra, delivering 44% brighter images and 4x more detail than the previous Fold 6's 50MP sensor. It is said the quad-pixel autofocus and 7× faster shutter speeds eliminate the frustrating lag that plagued earlier Samsung cameras.

Low-light magic: The phone doesn’t actually save all 200 million pixels every time. It uses pixel binning—combining 16 pixels into one larger 2.4 µm pixel. The result? Cleaner 12MP photos that look brighter and less grainy in dim conditions, while preserving the option for full 200MP when you need maximum detail.
