Whitley Davies is one of the most DetermineD young people you Will ever meet.

Whitley Davies is not your average young adult. She can deadlift double her weight and stick to a strict contest diet for several months without cheating. This dedication helped Davies, 22, become British champion in the junior bikini fitness division in October.

FLEX: What’s it like being a British champion?

Whitley Davies: It still feels so surreal. Little old me, British champion! I can’t even explain how it feels to have your work recognised and be rewarded with such a title.

How did you get into bodybuilding?

Before I competed, I was already living the lifestyle—my training and nutrition were on point and I was focused and disciplined. I enjoy learning about my body, researching and expanding my knowledge on training and nutrition, and am fascinated by the changes I can make to my physique.

How did this develop into competing?

When I went through something terrible in my home life in early 2015, I decided to take the plunge. I attended a UKBFF seminar and posing workshop and, six weeks later, stepped on stage for my first show. I ended up placing second with an invite to the British finals. From then on, I was hooked.

Is it difficult to stay disciplined at such a young age?
