Burning Out At Work? Take Charge Now!

It’s 8 pm and you still have a long day ahead of you. Your social life resembles a hermit’s. Your needle always points to the extreme right of the crib-o-meter. You, my friend, are burning out. Unless you want to spend half your salary on a doctor, read on and take charge now!

Sign 1

You Hate  Everybody

It is very likely that you have started finding your boss and colleagues incompetent and even catty. Shaista Khan, a Mumbai-based psychologist says, “One of the most common signs of burnout is when you develop a tendency to point the blame on your work and everyone around you for no good reason, even as you struggle to carry on with your routine. It is important to know that the problem, very often, is not the work, but the way you deal with it.”

Sign 2

You're So Tired

Do you get tired before the day has even begun, feel overwhelmed by responsibilities and experience shortness of breath frequently? These are just a few signs of exhaustion. This tiredness can be emotional, mental and physical. Having no enthusiasm or energy and feeling spent are some of the most common symptoms of a burnout.
