Sachin Pilot not only managed to halt the BJP juggernaut during the recent bypolls in Rajasthan, but is also emerging as a leader who can turn the fortunes of the Indian National Congress in the state.
For the Grand Old Party, Sachin Pilot is a beacon of hope. President of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee since January 2014, he has proved to be an astute politician, who has helped the Congress turn around its fortunes in the state. Sachin Pilot, the son of veteran politician Rajesh Pilot, orchestrated the Congress’ impressive win in the all-important by-polls to the Ajmer and Alwar parliamentary constituencies and the Mandalgarh assembly seat in February this year. This victory was a much-needed boost for the Congress that is trying to regain a foothold in the state and was a rude jolt to the ruling BJP that is suddenly jittery about its prospects in the upcoming assembly elections this year.
