The Crafty ‘Imp'oster

If you go up above the Cairn Gorm mountain of England and down the valley below, you might per chance happen to meet Mr. Giant, who lived with his family in a den.
Mr. Giant was like a squirrel! He hoarded away all his food to eat later that even his wife and his little giant kids were not allowed to even get a bite! All the other giants who lived in the valley had quite forgotten the Giant’s original name – Gola, the Big Toed. They called him Magpie* and so shall we.
One day Magpie wanted to eat an apple pie. His sweet tooth craved for the taste of an apple pie.
‘If I ask the giantess, she will make a big pie. The children will want some too. I will have to pay through my nose for a pint of sugar and a quart of flour at Geoff the Giant Grocers’. No, I rather think I can go without the apple pie.’ But his craving took over him and he went to his wife, the giantess. ‘Make an apple pie only for me. You and the kids can eat an apple each, for apples grow plenty in our orchard.’
An imp who lived in an orange tree in Magpie’s garden watched through the window as the family ate the apples and Magpie gobbled up the apple pie.
‘That giant needs to be taught a lesson,’ muttered the imp. One day when Magpie had gone out, the imp disguised himself as Magpie (Gola, the Big-Toed) and went into the house.
