Hobbies are a must especially for children.

Habitat In Mars!

Dear Grandma,

Now a days, children don’t get time for hobbies. Are hobbies really necessary for them?

- Tharan, Std.VIII,

Chettinad Vidyashram, Chennai.

Dear Tharan,

Hobbies are a must especially for children. When you take up a hobby, you have a break from your hectic routine. When I was young, my brother and I were hooked to gardening as we both loved to be outdoors. We took turns in watering and nurturing the plants. It was quite refreshing to see the plants grow. Our joy knew no bounds when we reaped the benefits of what we had planted. We passed on the happiness to our neighbours too by sharing. Hobbies are interesting and they make you an interesting personality too! Hobbies are stress busters. They also help your social life, creating a bond with others. There is an old saying that “idle hands are the devil’s workshop”. So find a hobby that you truly enjoy and are passionate about. The world is full of exciting wonderful activities that you can explore and adopt as your hobbies!

Robots vs human beings…will robots replace humans?

Earthy Expressions

Folk art and tribal art are easily recognizable - bright colours, bold strokes, quaint ways of representing people and animals. Many actually tell a tale! India being a vast country and with so many agricultural communities and tribes living close to nature, many art forms have evolved. Many have all but disappeared. Fortunately, there is an interest in such traditional art forms and efforts are being made to revive some of them. In the next few months, we will embark on a journey learning more about some of such art forms.

Switzerland Part1

As we alighted from the train and exited Monaco station, a cool sea breeze enveloped us, as if it were a natural welcome for returning again! Our immediate task-to figure out where the rest of the contingent was, so that we could join them and return back to Cannes, for the night. However, it was not going to be easy and the next couple of hours were filled with anxiety and mild panic.
