Use Technology to Transform Your Salon Business At a time when the world is embracing technology in almost all walks of life, Salons and Spas must keep pace. As technology facilitates and enables easier and smoother ways of doing tasks, it has increasingly become a part of our daily life. In the salon too, tools and gadgets used by the hairdressers and beauty therapists have become more efficient, intuitive and eco-friendly. Some of the unique customer friendly tech that salons can use include some initiatives I have come across lately. An AI Mirror in the salon reception which invites customers to scan your face, present a diagnosis and suggest possible treatments was one; another was the new launch of a Hair Colour App which scans the clients’ hair, analyses it, and offers virtual hair colour options to choose from. Other new tech that is increasingly in use are eco-friendly measures for the salon e.g. enabling lower consumption of water in the backwash and power consumed in the lighting too. Reaching out to your customers whether new or existing, is important. Your salon website could incorporate an AI assistant who is prepped to answer frequently asked questions especially by new clients. On the other hand, existing clients could avail of online web-cam consultations – a time and space saving initiative.
