'Valiants have to embrace occasion'

JAYDEN Stockley wants his Port Vale teammates to “thrive under the pressure” at Lincoln City today, for another important League One clash.

- Clive Youlton

The Valiants are rock bottom of the table and will stay in the bottom four even if they win at Michael Skubala’s fourth-placed outfit.

But with manager Darren Moore under pressure, Vale have to start somewhere and there would be no better place to start than Lincoln ahead of cup games against Barnsley and Bristol Rovers.

Stockley, 32, has only started one league match this season and accepts that he has to make more of an impact off the bench.

He enjoys playing at Lincoln and at the club's pre-match press conference he said: "It's a fantastic football club and I love playing there and I've got really fond memories of playing Lincoln. They are great people with a great set of fans that create a really lively atmosphere and I think you will see a squad that revels in that atmosphere this weekend.”

There will be extra emphasis on getting a result and he added: “If I was to hand advice to my teammates it's to thrive under the pressure.
