A HISTORIC city restaurant is stepping in to save us from boring lunches with a roundup of cookery sessions that rustle up quick dishes of international cuisine.
> Blackfriars in Newcastle City Centre
Blackfriars Restaurant in Newcastle - which describes itself as the oldest dining room in the UK, due to the 1239 building’s former use as a monks’ refectory - is out to create a new tradition of Street Food Express lunches.
Covering a range of popular international food, its run of weekday cookery workshops, starting at noon, is designed to suit anybody bored with their usual lunch spots or choice of on-the-go sandwiches.
