Say 'no' to a garden mow
The Journal
|April 26, 2025
IF YOU spot signs in parks and on grass verges soon saying No Mow May, the grassy areas near you are being left to grow wild for a nature campaign.
Eco organisation Plantlife is encouraging everyone to mow less and give power to the flowers and help nature to thrive. Mowing less encourages wildflowers to bloom, which benefits insects and other wild animals.
You can join in by letting the grass grow at home or asking a teacher if your school can take part.
No lawn is too small even the tiniest wild patch can provide vital food needed by bees and butterflies, connecting us with nature and giving the best start to summer.
Plantlife says support for its campaign is blossoming as people recognise the benefits to plants, people, pollinators and the planet.
