Howe to demand more from summer signings

EDDIE Howe has hinted that his high-flying Newcastle do not need major surgery in the remainder of the January window.

Before Wednesday night’s Champions League game against PSV, sporting director Ross Wilson is believed to have offered updates to Howe on transfer progress, while the board have the full understanding of main backers PIF.

As the finale of the January trading period heats up it is expected that Newcastle will bring in a backup defender, although we understand that Club Brugge will not part easily with 20-year-old fullback Joaquin Seys
