RNLI called out to pair caught up in dinghy scare

A NORTHUMBERLAND lifeboat was launched after receiving reports that two people in a dinghy had been blown offshore.

Amble RNLI was called at around 1pm on Thursday following reports they could be up to two miles off Alnmouth.

An Amble RNLI spokesperson said: “While under way the coastguard asked both boats to stand down as the two persons had made it ashore, the inshore lifeboat was almost on scene so proceeded just to make sure the two persons were safe and well before returning back to station.”
