Police hunt racist vandals behind estate graffiti

RACIST vandals who painted offensive messages on walls on a Tyneside estate are now being hunted by police.

Council staff had to wash away the hateful words after they appeared on the Meadow Well over the weekend.

And now, Northumbria Police is appealing for help to find those responsible. A spokeswoman said: "We have been made aware of graffiti which has been daubed across a wall on Ripley Avenue in Meadow Well, North Tyneside. There is absolutely no place for racism in our communities, and we take reports of this nature very seriously. The graffiti has since been removed, and enquiries into the report are ongoing."
