Former United skipper Stobbs signs for rivals Durham

The 32-year-old was released by United at the end of last season in a move which surprised many, but now has signed for Durham.

She spent two seasons at Newcastle after spells at a raft of clubs, including Crystal Palace, Charlton and Watford.

“Durham are a powerhouse in the league, a very competitive team for years, and I'm really excited to be here,” said Stobbs said after completing her move.

Stobbs becomes the second big signing for Durham this summer, after Grace Ede joined from Sunderland.

The 19-year-old came through the ranks on Wearside and already has a wealth of experience at WSL2 level and for England Under-19.
