Company fined £160k over 'unsafe practices' at bar

PENALTY ISSUED OVER FIRE SAFETY FAILINGS

A COMPANY behind a Huddersfield bar has been hit with a £160,000 fine over “unsafe practices” at the premises.

Magistrates handed down the hefty fine to Hellfire Entertainment Limited over fire safety failings at Showtime Sports Bar in Zetland Street in Huddersfield town centre. The court was told that the company director was Adam Snowball.

His father, Ian Snowball, was also said to be involved in the premises and had liaised with a visiting fire safety inspector in July last year, the court heard.

Hellfire Entertainment Limited was fined and ordered to pay more than £17,000 in costs for failing to comply with an enforcement notice, issued due to unsafe practices at their Huddersfield premises.
