Markham new sporting director for Huddersfield

HUDDERSFIELD Town have appointed Chris Markham as their new sporting director.

Markham has returned to the Terriers after previously having an eight-year spell with the club, where he served as head of performance analysis between 2009 and 2017.

Departing Town to join the FA as their game insights lead, Markham went on to have a four-year stint with Bolton Wanderers, initially as their technical performance director before becoming sporting director in 2023.

Markham left the fellow League One outfit in February, and has now joined Town to replace Mark Cartwright, who was relieved of his duties in April.

“First and foremost, we're incredibly excited to have Chris join us at such a pivotal time in our growth as a club, and his desire to return to Town was evident right from our very first conversation,’ CEO Jake Edwards told his club's website.
