The Conservatives need to stay relevant

PART of me felt a bit sorry for Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch last week.

Clearly a very intelligent and high achieving woman, she has reached a pinnacle in becoming leader of her party, yet she has been dealt an unfortunate hand indeed.

Unfortunate in having to follow 14 years of Conservative rule which have left the country in a dire state indeed, and which condemned the party to their worst election result in living memory.

And very unfortunate indeed to have been left with a pool of talent so drained that only the likes of Robert Jenrick is among her successors, should she step aside.

He looked stern as she was at the lectern, maybe upset that, during the whole of the keynote address, he didn't see one white face on the stage.

Afterwards, her speech was met with some scathing criticism, with the likes of The Guardian saying she offered 'no insight into her party's past failure and no original ideas that might make it relevant to Britain's future!
