Raiders turn on the style to seal emphatic victory

PLYMOUTH Raiders turned on the style in getting back to winning ways after last week's first loss of the season at Gloucester Kings with a superb 105-69 win at Reading Royals in National Division Two.

The Reading Rockets are a club that are highly respected across the UK game with their Championship team currently riding high, so attention shifted to their Rockets side, largely comprised of Academy prospects and those destined to rise through the Rockets ranks in future seasons. Reading have become something of a feeder club in recent years as a number of local Plymouth junior players have been directed to the Rockets programme under Matt Johnson.

Raiders and coach Gareth Laws were without key guard Mark Gillbard, who sustained a calf injury in last weekend's Cardiff win, and made the change in the lineup to bring in local rising talent Ellis Bullard, in a game that would ultimately pitch him against his former junior teammates.
