SHIPPING PROBLEMS LEAVE £50M DENT, BUT SALES LEAP
RETAIL magnate Chris Dawson's The Range chain has seen sales leap by £59m but its profits took a £50m hit when shipping problems caused too much stock to arrive all at once. The company was faced with a huge rise in costs as post Covid demand leapt and its warehouses filled to bursting point at the same time it faced hikes in the price of goods and transport.
But despite ongoing global economic turbulence and issues with supply chains and staff shortages Mr Dawson stressed the business is in good shape and continues to grow and has already opened four new stores this year.
