Low scores on yet another day to forget for Pilgrims

HERE are the player ratings of Plymouth Live's Argyle reporter Chris Errington from the Pilgrims' 4-1 Boxing Day defeat by Reading in League One at Home Park.

- Chris Errington

Conor Hazard 5 - Argyle need their goalkeeper to start coming up with more saves when they really need them. Both Reading's second and third goals were good finishes but you would have hoped the Northern Ireland international could have dealt with at least one of them, if not both. This might sound harsh, but high standards are required given Argyle's defensive frailty.

Joe Edwards 6 - The skipper tried his best to inspire those around him as Argyle had a torrid time at the start of the match, and he led by example with the commitment he showed all the time he was on the pitch before his second half substitution, but he could not do it all on his own.

Mathias Ross 4 - There are times when the tall former Denmark under-21 international struggles with the physicality of League One football and needs to assert himself more. Reading's third goal, when he failed to deal with a bouncing ball before Kamari Doyle fired home was a case in point.

Alex Mitchell 5 - The loan signing from Charlton Athletic has been in good form lately but Argyle never looked comfortable defensively at any stage in this game, and Mitchell was no exception.
