Homelessness charity launches Christmas appeal

LIVING on the streets at any time is horrible and fraught with difficulties, but it is particularly hard on people during the winter months and over the festive season.

While others are putting on the heating, digging out the winter woollies, gearing up for Christmas with all the food, drink, family, friends and bonhomie assuredly offered, homeless folks who are living in temporary accommodation, or even on the streets, have nothing to look forward to, just endure.

Plymouth's homelessness charity, Shekinah, issues an appeal each year to help those who are struggling and is urging Plymothians to remember those who are less fortunate than themselves at this time of year.

Shekinah's CEO John Hamblin took to the charity's Facebook page to launch this year's appeal.
