Family-run local is a gem

Plymouth people are being tasked with helping choose the city's most loved pub and LORNA HUGHES explains why former RAF Club Raffles could be in the running

RAFFLES is a family-run set up, with no big franchise behind it.

At the helm you'll find landlady Julie, her husband - and interior designer — Tony and daughter Lauren Edmonds, who manages the running of the club.

They are working hard to give people what they want from their local and it’s paying off - their events sell out quickly, with spaces for their ‘bottomless brunch’ being snapped up within an hour of publishing the event.

Lauren said: “Being that we're a small club, no chain, all independent we love that people are recognising how hard we work and the effort we put in to make these events special and stand out!”
