Regular viewers of GB News most likely to overestimate level of net migration

GB News viewers are more likely than fans of other major channels to wrongly believe that net migration is increasing, according to a study about broadcasting impartiality.
The research by Cardiff University also found that 51% of people were opposed to rules that allow politicians to front current affairs programmes. Only 29% said they agreed with the current system.
Responding to the findings, the culture secretary said the public were “right to be concerned about elected politicians playing the role of news presenters”.
Lisa Nandy said she was worried about coverage in which “political polemic is now presented as news”.
Questions have been raised about the number of Reform UK politicians appearing on GB News, including the party’s leader, Nigel Farage.
