AN exciting event took place last week celebrating the rich cultural diversity of Middlesbrough's food scene.
Middlesbrough stands out as a vibrant hub of cultural variety, as demonstrated by the participation of numerous food shops representing different cultures.
Attendees enjoyed a delightful array of cuisines, ranging from Indian and Pakistani to Chinese and African, reflecting the city's inclusive and diverse food landscape.
Samia Sadiq, the lead health and wellbeing consultant at Middlesbrough Environment City, shared her enthusiasm about the Flavours of Middlesbrough event, at Acklam Green on Wednesday, May 21.
The festival was made possible through a community grant from Middlesbrough Council, aimed at fostering unity and celebrating the diverse culinary traditions of the area's residents following last year's unrest.
"We wanted to shift the focus from negativity to a celebration of the various ethnicities and cultures in Middlesbrough," Samia said.
The event was a resounding success, selling out with a total of 100 tickets.
She added: "We were excited and pleasantly surprised by the community's response. It's heart-warming to see everyone come together."
Samia highlighted how the event served as a platform to unite different groups.
