Singapore cloud telephony firm establishing operations in Cebu

Singapore-based Velox Networks is establishing operations in Cebu as part of its expansion into the Philippines, positioning the Visayas hub at the center of its push into a newly liberalized telecommunications market.

The cloud telephony provider said Cebu will serve as a key base alongside Manila, supporting enterprise clients outside the capital as demand grows for internet-based communications solutions that bypass legacy infrastructure.

Velox's entry follows the passage of the “Konektadong Pinoy Act” in early 2026, which mandates shared telecommunications infrastructure and lowers barriers for new service providers.

The reform is designed to modernize the country's voice and data networks, historically dominated by a small number of incumbents.
