Ford Motor steps up philanthropic footprint

The Freeman

April 18, 2026

American automaker Ford Motor Company is stepping up its philanthropic footprint in the Philippines, signaling a more structured push to embed disaster resilience and community development into its long-term presence in the country.

- Ehda M Dagooc Staff Member

Through its global giving arm, Ford Philanthropy, and local unit Ford Philippines, the company recently expanded its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives with a focus on disaster preparedness, partnering with nonprofit “Gawad Kalinga.”

Senior executives, including Ford Philanthropy President Mary Culler, visited a disaster preparedness hub in Talisay City, Cebu—part of a broader effort to build community-level resilience in areas frequently exposed to climate-related risks.

The facility, located within the Mananga Riverside GK Village, serves as a model for scalable, community-based response systems following severe flooding caused by Typhoon Tino.
