The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said it only discovered in the final budget that its 2025 allocation had swelled to P1.113 trillion, far higher than the roughly P800 to P900 billion proposed by both the House and Senate before the bicameral conference.

Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco said yesterday that Ako-Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co has no more excuses and must now explain the insertions he made in the 2025 national budget.
“Cong. Zaldy Co cannot have any reason because the Speaker himself was the one who ordered him to return home. It is time for him to show himself to the people and explain where the insertions in the 2025 national budget goes,” Tiangco said in a statement.
