LTFRB reviewing petition for P1 jeepney farehike

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is reviewing a petition from major transport groups seeking a provisional P1 fare increase for public utility jeepneys (PUJs).

On August 11, 2025, national transport groups Pasang Masda, the Alliance of Transport Operators and Drivers Association of the Philippines (ALTODAP), and the Alliance of Concerned Transport Organizations (ACTO) filed the request, which also covers earlier petitions from August 2023 to March 2025 proposing base fare hikes and adjustments per succeeding kilometer for both traditional and modern PUJs.
LTFRB Chairperson Atty. Teofilo Guadiz III assured stakeholders that the petition is being studied thoroughly.
