Delhi Police Officer Accused of Misconduct During Raid

A Delhi Police officer has been sent to the district lines after a woman from the Northeast accused him of misbehaving with her during a raid in the Ashram area of south Delhi, officials said on Sunday.

The incident surfaced after a post on X, formerly Twitter, alleging harassment by the officer went viral, drawing widespread outrage and calls for strict action.

According to the post, the officer, identified as assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Virender of Ashram police station, allegedly misbehaved with the woman during a search operation at a shop in Maharani Bagh.

Delhi Police later issued a statement confirming that the matter is under probe and that ASI Virender had been sent to the district lines pending inquiry.
