KOHLI RISES TO FOURTH IN ODI RANKINGS, JUST 32 POINTS BEHIND ROHIT

Virat Kohli has moved closer to reclaiming the No.1 position in the ICC ODI batting rankings, now trailing India captain Rohit Sharma by only 32rating points. The veteran batter made notable progress after hammering his 83rd international century, a development highlighted inthe latest ICC Men's Player Rankings published on the official ICC website.

Kohli produced a superb 135 off just 120 deliveries in the opening ODI of India’s three-match series against South Africa in Ranchi. The 37-year-old’s innings helped him rise one spot to fourth place in the ODI batting rankings, lifting his rating to 751 points. With this surge, he is now only 32 points behind Rohit Sharma, who continues to lead the table.

Kohli previously dominated the No. I spot for more than three consecutive years toward the end of the previous decade but has not held it since April 2021, when Pakistan’s Babar Azam overtook him.
