Mixed emotions for Green at promotion tilt
The Chester Chronicle
|May 29, 2025
VICE chairman and staunch supporter Jim Green admitted Chester FC's extra-time play-off final defeat to Scunthorpe United prompted a “weird feeling of disappointment and immense pride in the players and the club.”
-
A man who has done much to lead the Blues to where the club is now with astute leadership spoke in the wake of a tremendous season which was tantalisingly close to ending in promotion.
As it is, Chester will remain in National League North.
“I'm really proud of the players and the football staff, the whole club really and the supporters,” said Green. “To be part of that. We are disappointed the result didn’t go for us on the day.”
