India had designated Nijjar as a terrorist in 2020 and strongly refuted Trudeau's claims, dismissing them as "absurd" and "motivated." The suspension of visa services had affected both Canadians applying from within Canada and Canadian citizens abroad. However, with India's decision to resume visa processing, there is hope for improved relations between the two nations.
