Imrie thankful of support after tragedy

DOUGIE IMRIE admitted Morton's late leveller brought a touch of joy to the most difficult week of his life.

The Cappielow boss returned to the dugout just days after the tragic passing of newly born daughter Remi.

But after Eamonn Brophy's double secured a point against Ayr, Imrie insisted the tributes and support from the football world had helped both him and wife Lauren cope with their grief.

He said: “The events of the last week have been very tough for myself and Lauren and both families.

“These players will be feeling it as well. I think it was important that I came today to be there for them. I'm the leader of this club.
