Mosque extension approved among planning developments

Plans for an extension of Scunthorpe Central Mosque have been granted approval.

As previously reported by Scunthorpe Live, it applied to convert an adjacent building complex in Percival Street. It used to be a retail unit.

The mosque’s new extension will enable establishment of a new outreach food bank and kitchen, and include a washroom and toilet facilities, and a multipurpose hall for school and organisational visits.

The mosque extension received a mixed reaction. A particular concern for some objectors was potential extra parking pressure.
